B is for Books and Books are for reading

As far back as I remember I started reading at the age of Six. By reading I am not referring to books that were on the list of books for my school class such as the Macmillan readers and Queen's Primer of those days. No. I am referring to books that were out of my school curriculum.  The first book I ever read of course was a Children’s book. I saw it with a friend in school on the playground during one of our recesses. I liked the book immediately. As a child I was fascinated with the pictures in the book. I think I begged my friend to let me take it home and I showed it to my dad and said, “I want you to buy this book for me, please.”  The next time I saw my dad he had bought the book and another very similar to the one I had requested for.  You can’t begin to imagine how happy I was. Although it was late in the night when he gave me the books, I was not deterred from reading at least one of them that night. That’s how my life romance with books started. ...

Book of the Month

Book of the Month: February Hello booklovers. Welcome to the month of February. Wasn't it just yesterday, when we were calling out cheerfully,"Happy New Year" to loved ones and friends? Wow! Time keeps sneaking up on us. The book of the month for February is Me before You (Jojo Moyes).  Me before you is the story of William Traynor, who got involved in an accident  which left him confined to a wheelchair. He lived life on the fast lane and had everything going for him until the accident ruined his life. Lou Clark is the girl with no ambitions in life who is employed by the Traynors to take care of their son, Will. But even the chatty Lou could only do so much tor him. She would later learn that he had once attempted taking his own life and her real purpose of supposedly taking care of him was to ensure that he never attempts it again..... Well, I don't think there'll be any dry eyes in the house by the time we are done and dusted with, Me before You. ...

The Book vs. The Movie

Is the book better than the movie? H ello booklovers!!! I know it’s been a minute. I’m really sorry for having left y’all in the lurch since the last post. Don’t mind this job of mine that won’t let me do what I like, when I please😞. I have to stick up with it because for now it pays the bills. One of these days sha , I will sack my employer.*Looks around to make sure no one is reading this*. Today, I want to take some time out to write about books that have been made into movies. You know, an author writes a book, fiction novel, and then a director/ producer in Hollywood decides to adapt it to something for the screen for example, a movie or a TV series. Yeah, that kind of thing. So many movies and TV series we know today are adaptations of fiction novels. The guys over at Hollywood work hard but the book is always better than the movie. You can quote me on that. Come along now as we journey into the world of books turned movies/ TV series. 1...

Welcome to the world of a fiction addict!

Hi there lovelies! Welcome to FictionAddictbooks.blogspot.com. I’m so glad to be writing this blog and did I mention this is my first blog.  I had taken a long hiatus from reading for pleasure (a hiatus that's unforgivably long) and only recently returned from the said hiatus. So I kind of have a busy life and all but I decided it was time to go back to my earliest hobby (if reading fiction qualifies as a hobby).  The purpose of FictionAddictbooks blog is to share my journey through the pages of books that I read. I want to share the lows and highs, the suspense, the humor,, the thrills  and all that is in each book that I read with YOU. I hope to do this without boring you. . So come on along with me as we journey into the magical world of  fiction books.
