BOOK OF THE MONTH: MARCH

Dear FictionAddicts, Say hello to March.  It's so hot these days it feels like we are in a oven baking. I really can't wait for the rains and heavy downpours.  I’m sure you had as much pleasant time as I did reading the last two books of the month. This month we will read The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman and  The Wives by Tarryn Fisher . The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman Nina Hill is a young woman supremely confident in her own... shell. The only child of a single mother, Nina has her life just as she wants it: a job in a bookstore, a kick-butt trivia team, a world-class planner and a cat named Phil. If she sometimes suspects there might be more to life than reading she just shrugs and picks up a new book.  When the father she never knew existed suddenly dies, leaving behind innumerable sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews , Nina is horrified. They all live close by! They’re all or mostly all excited to meet ...

Dear Fiction Addicts, By now you know I love holidays and I love it even more when the month begins with a holiday. Happy Easter! I’m so happy that death could not hold my Saviour down and he lives. Wow! It’s April already and I can’t wait to unveil the books for this month. I’m quite sure you had a memorable time with the books of this months and I’m thinking of pushing the limits this month because well…. Just because I know WE CAN!!! This  April we’ll be reading not one. Not two but three books. Yes I know WE CAN. So here’s the reading list for this month 1 The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware Lo Backlock , a Journalist who writes for a travel magazine  has just been given an assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered selected guests jovial in the picturesque North Sea. At first Lo’s stay is nothing but pleasant: the cabins are plush, the parties are sparklin...

Book of the Month: MARCH

Dear FictionAddicts, It’s March! The rains have started and the weather is much cooler, thank goodness. I would not have survived another day of the drastic heatwave. February could easily pass for the hottest month this year asides from being the month of love. The month of love has come and gone but we should not stop showing love. Let’s give a little more love everyday. Now I’m sure you all had the best of time with Collen Hoover’s It Ends With Us last February. One of our ardent readers wrote in on Instagram a couple of days after I posted the book of month for February saying she finished it already and it was lovely. This got me thinking, more books every month. FictionAddicts, February 2018 is the last time we will ever read one book. I promise. Fiction addicts honor, just as in Scout’s honor. This month we will read two books: Emily Giffin’s Heart of the Matter : This psychological fiction follows the lives of two different women. ...

Book of the Month : August

Wow! I can hardly believe it’s August.  July was a good month in more ways than one and I’m sure you all had fun with last month’s book of the month. The book of the month for August is Can You Keep a Secret by Sophie Kinsella. Emma Corrigan is a young lady with a huge heart, a nervous flyer and more than a few secrets. Sitting on a turbulent plane and thinking it might be her last moments, she starts spewing her secrets with reckless abandon to the American gentleman sitting next to her on the plane, but she’s too frightened to even notice. She tells him all her fibs about her size, how she is not sure she has a g-spot, how the coffee at work is horrible, how she once threw a trouble client file in the bin, just to mention a few. She survives the turbulence and finds out the next day at work that the American from the plane is her new boss at the mega corporation which she works for. She soon realizes that he remembers everything she said on the flight . Things c...
