Book of the Month : May 2018

My dear Fictionaddicts,

April was such a fantastic month and I’m sure you all were spellbound by the books we read last month. As always I’m sorry this post is a bit late, but it’s better late than never.

This May, we’ll read Still Me by Jojo Moyes and Revenge Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger.

Still Me is the third book in the Me Before You series. Louisa Clark arrives in New York ready to start a new life, confident that she can embrace this new adventure and keep her relationship with Ambulance Sam alive across several thousand miles. She steps into the world of the super rich working for Leonard Gopnik and his much younger wife Agnes. Lou is determined to get the most out of the experience and throws herself into her new job in New York.
As she beings to mix in New York high society, Lou meets Joshua Ryan, a man who brings with him a whisper of her past. Before long she is torn between Fifth Avenue where she works and the treasure-filled vintage clothing store where she actually feels at home. When matters come to a head, she has to ask herself: Who is Louisa Clark? And how do you find the courage to follow your heart - wherever that may lead?

Revenge Wears Prada (The Devil Wears Prada #2) by Lauren Weisberger:   Almost a decade has passed since Andy Sachs quit the job “a million girls would die for” working for Miranda Priestly at Runway magazine – a dream that turned out to be a nightmare. Andy and Emily, her former nemesis and co-assistant, have since joined forces to start a high end bridal magazine, The Plunge, which has become quickly required reading for the young and stylish. Now they get to call the shots. Andy writes and travels to her heart’s content; Emily plans parties and secures advertising like a seasoned pro. Even better as Andy has met the love of her life. Max Harrison, scion of a storied media family, is confident, successful and drop dead gorgeous. Their wedding will be splashed across all the society pages as their friends and family gather to toast the glowing couple. Andy Sachs is on top of the world. But karma is a bitch. The morning of her wedding, Andy can’t shake the past and when she discovers a secret letter with crushing implications, her wedding-day turns to cold dread. Andy realizes that nothing– not her husband nor her beloved career – is as it seems. She never suspected that her efforts to build a bright new life would lead her back into the darkness she barely escaped ten years ago– and directly into the path of the devil herself.

That’s all folks. You know what to do. Read away!

BOOK OF THE MONTH: August 2018

Fiction addicts get in here! Hellooo its AUGUST and I have a confession to make. You see, I’ve been   putting the books on out here from month to month but I only just caught up with the books of the month this July. What I mean is that I post of the books of the month but I don’t actually read the book of the month. I actually read the books of the last month.   Can you imagine that? Well that’s what happens when life gets in the way of my reading.   I had to read three books from previous posts this July just to catch up. I pushed myself hard. Now that my confession is out of the way, I feel relieved. I trust we were pleased with An American Marriage and The Girl on the Train . I get the feeling that An American Marriage will be made into a TV series or movie. It was a very nice read with so many likeable quotes. This month we will read, The Woman in the Window and Little Fires Everywhere The Woman in the Window by A.J Finn: Anna Fox lives alone – a recluse in

BOOK OF THE MONTH : MARCH, 2021

Dear FictionAddicts, 2021 is already 2 months and 10 days old. I’m not going to give a new year speech, the year is already old and 2020 was a …..well, it was a vibe, mood, cruise, a corona virus year and a forced vacation all wrapped up in one. It’s March and the weather is not friendly at all with the sun scorching everything in its path . Please drink lots of water, stay hydrated, wear a mask and stay safe. This March we will read The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware and The Other Woman by Sandie Jones   The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware When Rowan Caine stumbles upon the ad, she was looking for something else completely. But it seemed too good an opportunity to pass on. It was a live-in nanny post, with a very generous salary. When she arrives at Heatherbrae House, Rowan is smitten by the luxurious “smart” home fitted with every modern convenience imaginable, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands and by this picture-perfect family. Her employer Sandra Elincourt is
