Happy Not So New Year!

Dear FictionAddicts,

Hmmm. I don’t even know where to start. First of, Happy Not So New Year!

It’s been such a long time I sat down to write this blog. I may have my excuses but none of it justifies me abandoning you all for so long.  You all deserve better. I mean, it’s been a minute too long. In 2018 I intend to never let the posts be late.

That said, I want to thank you all for your support in the last one year.  I love you all immensely. It is my desire and hope that we all get to read more books this year than we did the previous year without life interrupting us (unnecessarily).

I’m sure by now most of you have noticed my gender bias for female authors. I’m just soooo comfy reading a female authors than male ones. I think with all the disparity going on in the world in remuneration of the male and female sex, for the same job role I’m well within my rights to love reading authors of the same gender as I am. I won’t be surprised if the same thing going on in Hollywood also affects authors and writers and the publishing world too!

We’ll read more female authors this year, some you’re not too familiar with and some of the regulars. From time to time I’ll try to chip in some male authors too. We might also read some classics this year.

Well that’s all I can think of at the moment.

Here’s to reading even more books in 2018!

Much Love,
FictionAddict.

It’s March and the weather is not friendly at all with the sun scorching everything in its path . Please drink lots of water, stay hydrated, wear a mask and stay safe. This March we will read The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware and The Other Woman by Sandie Jones   The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware When Rowan Caine stumbles upon the ad, she was looking for something else completely. But it seemed too good an opportunity to pass on. It was a live-in nanny post, with a very generous salary. When she arrives at Heatherbrae House, Rowan is smitten by the luxurious “smart” home fitted with every modern convenience imaginable, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands and by this picture-perfect family. Her employer Sandra Elincour...

BOOK OF THE MONTH: JULY

Dear Fiction Addicts, Welcome to July! The first half of the year is gone and if we haven’t hit our targets yet, we still have time to put in effort and set the ball in motion. Take that first step and keep moving. Remember to work smart and not hard. June had its share of woes and sadness. The killings in Jos, Plateau State and the petrol tanker explosion on Micheal Otedola Bridge, along Lagos Ibadan Expressway, Lagos that claimed the lives of so many Nigerians in the last month is just very sad. Our prayers are with those who lost loved ones in these ugly incidents. This month we will read An American Marriage by Tayari Jones and The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins. The Girl On the Train was a special request by one of our readers -@a_jokeade. An American Marriage by Tayari Jones Newlyweds Celestial and Roy are the embodiment of both the American Dream and the New South. He is a young executive, and she is an artist on the brink of an exciting caree...
