BOOK OF THE MONTH JUNE, 2019

Dear FictionAddicts,

I have come again, as usual. Please do not hold a grudge against me. As you must have noticed I haven’t posted anything since November, 2018. I don’t know what excuse to give this time around. I guess I was in a rut and each time I tried to write a post I just found myself putting it off till some other time. And that’s how I found myself not posting anything for almost seven months. 2019 is already 6months old and there’s just six months left in the year but we’ll make the best of the time that’s left. You know what they say, IT’S NEVER TOO LATE.

So, let me welcome you all to the second half of 2019 and cheers to the rest of the year.

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, 2015

Vianne and Isabelle have always been close despite their differences. The younger, bolder sister Isabelle lives in Paris while Vianne lives a quiet and content life in the French countryside with her husband Antioine. When World War II strikes, Antoine is sent off to fight, Vianne and Isabelle’s father send Isabell to help her older sister cope. As the war progresses, it’s not only the sisters’ relationship that is tested, but their strength and individual senses of right and wrong. With life as they know it changing in unbelievably horrific ways, the sisters find themselves facing frightening situations and responding in ways they never imagined as bravery and resistance take different forms in each of their actions.

Popular quotes from The Nightingale

·        “But love has to be stronger than hate, or there is no future for us.”

·        “It is not biology that determines fatherhood. It is love.”

·        “You are my sunlight in the dark and the ground beneath my feet.”

One morning she knocks on her friend Anne’s door then enters, and is stunned to see what Anne is doing on the living room floor… and not with her husband! Frances keeps Anne’s secret, but Anne’s husband eventually finds out. The repercussions of the affair reverberate through the four carpool families as each family face their own doubts and worries that perhaps their own marriage could be up for a similar fall. Frances finds herself navigating a moral minefield that could make or break a marriage.

Welcome to the world of a fiction addict!

Hi there lovelies! Welcome to FictionAddictbooks.blogspot.com. I’m so glad to be writing this blog and did I mention this is my first blog.  I had taken a long hiatus from reading for pleasure (a hiatus that's unforgivably long) and only recently returned from the said hiatus. So I kind of have a busy life and all but I decided it was time to go back to my earliest hobby (if reading fiction qualifies as a hobby).  The purpose of FictionAddictbooks blog is to share my journey through the pages of books that I read. I want to share the lows and highs, the suspense, the humor,, the thrills  and all that is in each book that I read with YOU. I hope to do this without boring you. . So come on along with me as we journey into the magical world of  fiction books.
