BOOK OF THE MONTH: NOVEMBER

Dear FictionAddicts,

I can hardly believe 2017 is 80% complete. It’s true what they say, ‘Time waits for no man” ( and woman too). Well in a way I’m glad the year is running out. There were some high points in the year and some really bad low points. I’m hoping the new year will bring best things to all of us.

I’m sure we had fun reading Paula Hawkins’ thriller, Into the water.  Truth be told, I’ve not read even 50 pages of the book yet (thanks to work and other pressing commitments)but the little I’ve read tells me it’s sure to keep one on the edge. It literally gives me the chills.

This month we’ll read

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell:

Film critic Beth and copy editor Jennifer are best of friend and coworkers at Omaha Courier Newspaper. In their emails, they both exchange witty banter, jokes and an underlying affection to help them get through their frustrations in life and love. Jennifer is married to a high school music teacher and her husband wants to have kids. Jennifer is reluctant on the issue of children but she eventually gets pregnant.

Beth lives with her college boyfriend of eight years, Chris. They’ve lived together for many years but Beth gets the sense that he will never propose. With her younger sister getting married at the end of the year she feels the stagnant nature of her relationship with Chris deeply.

Meanwhile, Lincoln O’ Neil can’t believe this is his job now- reading other people’s e-mail. When he applied to be “internet security officer”, he pictured himself building firewalls and crushing hackers- not writing up a report every time a sports reporter forwards a dirty joke.
When Lincoln comes across Beth’s an d Jennifer’s messages, he knows he should turn them in. But he can’t help being entertained and captivated by their stories. By the time Lincoln realizes he’s falling for Beth, it is way too late to introduce himself. What would he say?

I hope you enjoy this one. You can download a copy, here in Epub and here  in PDF.

Love,

FictionAddict

BOOK OF THE MONTH : MARCH, 2021

Dear FictionAddicts, 2021 is already 2 months and 10 days old. I’m not going to give a new year speech, the year is already old and 2020 was a …..well, it was a vibe, mood, cruise, a corona virus year and a forced vacation all wrapped up in one. It’s March and the weather is not friendly at all with the sun scorching everything in its path . Please drink lots of water, stay hydrated, wear a mask and stay safe. This March we will read The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware and The Other Woman by Sandie Jones   The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware When Rowan Caine stumbles upon the ad, she was looking for something else completely. But it seemed too good an opportunity to pass on. It was a live-in nanny post, with a very generous salary. When she arrives at Heatherbrae House, Rowan is smitten by the luxurious “smart” home fitted with every modern convenience imaginable, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands and by this picture-perfect family. Her employer Sandra Elincour...

Welcome to the world of a fiction addict!

Hi there lovelies! Welcome to FictionAddictbooks.blogspot.com. I’m so glad to be writing this blog and did I mention this is my first blog.  I had taken a long hiatus from reading for pleasure (a hiatus that's unforgivably long) and only recently returned from the said hiatus. So I kind of have a busy life and all but I decided it was time to go back to my earliest hobby (if reading fiction qualifies as a hobby).  The purpose of FictionAddictbooks blog is to share my journey through the pages of books that I read. I want to share the lows and highs, the suspense, the humor,, the thrills  and all that is in each book that I read with YOU. I hope to do this without boring you. . So come on along with me as we journey into the magical world of  fiction books.

BOOK OF THE MONTH: JULY

Dear Fiction Addicts, Welcome to July! The first half of the year is gone and if we haven’t hit our targets yet, we still have time to put in effort and set the ball in motion. Take that first step and keep moving. Remember to work smart and not hard. June had its share of woes and sadness. The killings in Jos, Plateau State and the petrol tanker explosion on Micheal Otedola Bridge, along Lagos Ibadan Expressway, Lagos that claimed the lives of so many Nigerians in the last month is just very sad. Our prayers are with those who lost loved ones in these ugly incidents. This month we will read An American Marriage by Tayari Jones and The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins. The Girl On the Train was a special request by one of our readers -@a_jokeade. An American Marriage by Tayari Jones Newlyweds Celestial and Roy are the embodiment of both the American Dream and the New South. He is a young executive, and she is an artist on the brink of an exciting caree...
