BOOK OF THE MONTH : MARCH, 2021

Dear FictionAddicts,

2021 is already 2 months and 10 days old. I’m not going to give a new year speech, the year is already old and 2020 was a …..well, it was a vibe, mood, cruise, a corona virus year and a forced vacation all wrapped up in one.

It’s March and the weather is not friendly at all with the sun scorching everything in its path. Please drink lots of water, stay hydrated, wear a mask and stay safe.

This March we will read The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware and The Other Woman by Sandie Jones

The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware

When Rowan Caine stumbles upon the ad, she was looking for something else
completely. But it seemed too good an opportunity to pass on. It was a live-in nanny post, with a very generous salary. When she arrives at Heatherbrae House, Rowan is smitten by the luxurious “smart” home fitted with every modern convenience imaginable, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands and by this picture-perfect family.

Her employer Sandra Elincourt is stylish and smart and the girls seem sweet enough, though 8 year-old Maddie rings some alarm bells in Rowan’s mind.

So what if the last the four nannies left under mysterious circumstances? Rowan knows she’s where she belongs – even when Maddie tries to warn her away, claiming that, “the ghosts wouldn’t like it” if she stays. Almost immediately she resumes her job as the nanny, both parents go on a business trip. Left alone with the three little girls, Rowan can’t shake the feeling that there are other forces at work in the house.

Unknown to Rowan she has stepped into a nightmare – one that will end with a dead child and herself in prison awaiting trial for murder.

The Other Woman by Sandie Jones

Emily thinks Adam is perfect; the man she thought she’d never meet. But lurking in the shadows is a rival; a woman who shares a deep bond with the man she loves.

Emily chose Adam, but she didn’t choose his mother Pammie. There’s nothing a mother wouldn’t do for her son, and now Emily is about to find out just how far Pammie will go to get what she wants: Emily gone forever.

The Other Woman is an addictive fast-paced psychological thriller about the destructive relationship between Emily, her boyfriend Adam and his manipulative mother, Pammie.
